Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance brokerage, is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa (Missy) Sullivan as the Equine, Farm & Ranch Practice Leader for Lockton Private Risk Solutions. Missy’s appointment strengthens the firm’s Equine, Farm & Ranch Practice and reinforces Lockton’s commitment to providing tailored, expert-driven solutions for high-net-worth clients.
Missy brings 38 years of experience in the insurance industry, including retail and wholesale brokerage across commercial, personal, and equine lines, including Olympic-level competitors. Most recently, she was director of the equine insurance division at Flagler Insurance Agency, where she managed national and global risks within high-net-worth, equine, and commercial property and casualty sectors. She is a nationally recognized leader in equine insurance, trusted by top riders, trainers, and equestrian organizations for comprehensive risk guidance and high-touch client service.
In her role at Lockton, Missy will further develop Private Risk Solutions’ specialized advisory capabilities for farm, ranch, and equine, ensuring the delivery of highly customized, personalized risk and insurance solutions. As the equine specialization dovetails with the high-net-worth client, Sullivan also provides high-touch service and risk management for these clients’ homes and collections.

Missy holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Bentley University. She is fluent in French and speaks some Spanish. A lifelong equestrian, she has competed as a hunter/jumper rider on the A circuit for more than 35 years.
